$3 to go!
I just sent out two Lens posts for patrons with the Patreon app. One is my inadvertant glitch hop due to weak CPU, the other is me doodling with a good demo sample library I found that lets you use it in commercial projects royalty-free (https://blackoctopus-sound.com/free-downloads/).

I have a newsletter kind of thing now. It's like the Good Content you follow me for, but curated and edited in one monthly email.

Lesson from using social media for 10+ years: some people talk a lot. A lot of what they say might even be good and interesting! But...their volume overwhelms everything else in the feed. Following them loses the breadth of many voices for the depth of one limited perspective.
People who tweet/toot more than ~10 times a day really need to start a blog (which you can sub to by RSS!) and make way for the masses who just have one little thing to say.
I just posted the first entry in my weekly melody project: https://www.patreon.com/posts/melody-1-16113619

I updated my DistroKid review. https://digitalscofflaw.com/writing/distrokid-review/
Do you enjoy listening to unusual electronic music? Well you're in luck! I make the weirdest, and I also let other weirdsmiths partake in the bounty of my synth presets, plus melodies I couldn't find a use for.
It's still a new thing, so there's not much yet, but I have lots of ideas and some things ready to post. Patrons get shiny perks.
Puns are fueled by money!

Throwing money at my Patreon is like throwing ethically-sourced coal into a smartassed furnace with near 100% energy capture and no negative emissions.
The music making business is as hype driven as the rest of the music world, so I can't exactly depend on ads and review copies and be a good reviewer. I'd be asking for trouble.
I am very, very biased and opinionated when it comes to music, and don't want companies trying to influence me away from the unique perspective I'd bring to the blog. At $5k/month, any extra from ads and referrals would just be a nice bonus, not influential.
New Patreon goal: I'll start a review blog for music tools: synths, MIDI controllers, effects. Things like that.
I turn money into funny.
Useful aside for people trying to promote their music and get a Patreon going: My Bandcamp stats show a ton of plays from that embedded player.
Patreon itself will strip the inline CSS from the player, but you can still set the height, width, and border the oldschool way with height="" and the pixels on the iframe code.
I don't know if that's responsible for the 3 patrons, but it seems to get attention.
I'll post the Cobalt preset to Patreon at some point.
