I wanted to start learning LISP so I chose @firstname.lastname@example.org's Hy, and I'm amazed at how well it works.
Since I already know all the Python builtins and libraries, I don't have to spend time on learning those, and can focus instead on learning the language proper.
As an example, I would usually spend a minute looking how I can make an HTTP GET request, but with Hy I know it's (.get requests myurl). This all adds up to half (or more) my time saved.
As a general instance, we are not centered on a specific theme, or a specific language. Everyone is welcome as long as they follow the few rules we have.
We always run the latest stable version of Mastodon, providing you a stock experience, with the following modifications:
Although we are a medium+ sized instance, we'd like to keep the feeling that you are at home and safe here.
